As with most fine cookware, HexClad cookware should be seasoned before the first use or after a deep clean. You do not need to season your pans before every use.

To season your pans properly:

1. Wash in warm, soapy water. Then dry
2. Thinly coat the pan's interior with 1-2 teaspoons of [high smoke point oil](https://www.healthstandnutrition.com/smoke-point-of-oils/) like vegetable, avocado, or olive oil .
3. Leave on heat for 2-3 minutes.

If you are ready to cook, feel free to use the pan right away. If you are not ready to cook, please let the pan and oil cool down before washing it out with warm soapy water.

Over the first few weeks of use, your HexClad Hybrid cookware will perform better and better as it re-seasons itself on its own from the fats in the food you are cooking.

**LOW HEAT is key!** You rarely need to cook on high heat with HexClad. Our patented design distributes heat faster and more evenly, which means you get the same results at lower temperatures. Because sticking almost always occurs when the heat is too high, we recommend:

**Low heat** for _eggs_ and _use a small amount of butter, oil, or cooking spray._
**Medium-low heat** for _general cooking._
**Medium-high heat** for _searing._
